There are also a set of omicron like relationships, and maybe others, but these are not for the present examination of the noam model. While xi might be somewhat secondary, in that it links contentment to motivation, then it also links opportunity to behavioural repertoire. These do become important to the model and will be considered in the post on upsilon.
Details
The noam inverted triangle is formed of three points. The two oblique sides are topped by the totality of salient situational awareness (iota) and the potential responses (kappa) and have the values (nu) commonly at the bottom. Values are related to awareness as satisfaction (pi) and to potential response via motivation (tau). The commonality of values forges a link between satisfaction and motivation (and therefore less directly between awareness and potential and further to stimulus-response) whereupon satisfaction, or lack thereof, gives rise to motivation, or apathy. The link between pi and tau is xi which acts as an indicator of disatisfaction and the need to do something about it. This wording of “motivation” is general rather than situational or state dependent. Motivation, here, is persitant whether satisfied or otherwise. The level of satisfaction is the determiner for whether motivation is potentiated or not. Dissatisfaction, the discrepency between value (motive) and awareness (of the lack of something) potentiates that persisant motivation invoking motion (ie. an action response). There motivation to satisfy hunger remains, even after a good meal and hunger is absent. The difference is that the absence of hunger does not change the overall need for nutrition in sustaining life, but rather affects the immediate need, and therefore urge, for nutrition. The need for an organism to eat in order to live persists, even if the urge is not active.
The link from pi to tau is denoted by xi. Xi then is the connection between stimulus and motivation, and motivation and motion. We might alternatively say that it connects contentment with motivation. Where stimulus violates values there is discontentment, which creates an urge to do something: an action that serves a value. Xi glues pi and tau together via their commonality nu. Xi then is then a kind of signal of discomfort that indicates a need to act: the situational and state dependent potentiator of motivation.
Xi is something of an abstraction of nu values, and is a minor property introduced into the framework mostly for understanding the interrelationship between pi and tau, and the formation of instructs as rule goverend behaviour of upsilon. As such, a detailed formulation has not been conducted.

Anyway, xi (ξ) and omicron (ο) are a couple of relatively trivial components of the noam model that I won’t explore in any depth, but include here for completeness. They sit near the others in the Greek alphabet and have been selected because of their difficulty in drawing reflects their obscurity.
