3.1.4.5. Rho- kinetic behaivour

Drilldown: //Grand Framework 0.1.0/Cliome/Meme/Noam/Rho

Rho is the kinetic behaviour, the response selected from the range available and enacted. It equates to the classical principle of response.

Specific Classes

In brief

An actual kinetic behaviour may be selected from the range, or repetroir, of potential behaviours available. This is the equivalent of response in the traditional behavioural model.

Operators of necessity and possibility are drawn from model logic to indicate kinetic and potential behaviour and thier relationship

Details

Where kappa is the potential behaviour, that which is part of the available behavioural repertoir but not necessarily being, or if ever, invoked, then rho is the kinetic behaviour, that which is being invoked. It is clear that there is a relationship between kappa and rho. That which is possible, under certain circumstances, can become enacted, and that which is acted means that the person must be cable of doing such a thing.

The circumstances on which capability of a behaviour becomes action, are influenced by the situational awareness, which includes sensitivity to ones internal state, along with knowing what is going on in the environment. The evaluation and decision cycle of testing against values (nu) for satisfaction (pi) which indicates (xi) motivation (tau) leading to selection from among the choices (kappa) of how to deal with the situation, resulting in actual engagement (rho). As action may affect internal state or the environment, then the cycle will continue until satisfaction or more pressing concerns arise – the terminating uni-stability.

Shortcuts or shortcircuits may have been laid (upsilon) which link the awareness (iota) more directly to the choice (kappa) and allow for more rapid decision making in arriving at appropriate behaviour (rho). This decision path is reinforced or inhibited according to the level of success in meeting with values.

In the framework, rho can be likened to the traditional behavioural model component of the response. Stimulus is the sigma that informs iota as the totality of salient situational awareness.

For some response to be possible then the 3M of mission, method, and materiel should be present: knowing what to do, knowing how to do it, and having the requisite resources available. The selection and enactment of appropriate behaviour requires these, otherwise, frustration will result.

Where any of the 3M elements are missing, then the next level of engagement (and so on recursively) is required whereby rho becomes about aquisitional behaviour.

Examples

{law, science, sales (direct, mlm), PR, military, thermostat, environmentalism, the cat sat on the mat}

Sales (direct)

The salesperson and the customer are components of each others environments with which they interact: both input and output. The kinetic response of the salesperson is the sales pitch, answering questions, explaining features, taking payment and so on. The kinetic response of the customer is asking questions, disclosing needs, making the purchase and payment and so on.

Sales (MLM)

The sponsoring distributor actions are to introduce and explain the compensation plan and arrange enrolment. The potential downline’s behaviour is in joining up to the scheme. Notably, upon joining, the potential downline becomes a distributor and takes on the actions of both sales and recruitment.

Origin and history

Initially, response was rho, but rho was reassigned to potential behaviour and eta introduced for kinetic behaviour.

The eta symbol was chosen to reflect the arching shape of the curve between rho and sigma. It also refers as the “e” of enactment.

The term “kinetic” as opposed to “potential” is taken from the physics of energy. Kinetic means motion

0.1.1 2019-07-12 Property designation update from eta to rho

rho has reverted to its orignanl meaning of kinetic response; kappa (which could have been taken for kinetic but wasn’t) is introduced to mean capability, capacity, or potential behaviour; eta has been depricated and is reserved for later use.
